Niccolò Rinaldi MEP invites applications for the post of trainee to work in his office in the European Parliament in Brussels. The following rules will apply to the traineeship:
1. Recruitment of trainees
Trainees shall be recruited on the basis of an individual application comprising:
a) a motivation letter
b) A curriculum vitae filled out using the relevant form (download the form here) and clearly dating time of beginning and end of all assignments.
2. Job description
a) The traineeship offered by the MEP allows a greater understanding of the European Institutions and particularly the European Parliament, but due to the short time period does not always allow participants to make a professional contribution to the political and legislative work of the MEP.
b) The trainee shall carry out his or her traineeship only within the MEP office and on its premises.
c) He/she shall work with the MEP Assistant in order to follow the work of a Parliamentary Committee.
d) The trainee shall submit a brief report at the end of his or her traineeship on the work he or she has carried out within the MEP.
e) The duties allocated to a trainee shall be determined by the MEP.
f) Trainees’ working hours shall be those of the MEP.
3. Duration of traineeship
a) Traineeship shall last two or three months.
b) The period foreseen for the traineeship is: 16th of September 2013 - 16th of December 2013
4. Eligibility for a traineeship
a) To be eligible, the applicant must hold a university degree or be in the final year of his or her studies
b) He or she must have a good knowledge of English and possibly French and other languages.
c) The candidate should have a good knowledge of Italia dei Valori and ALDE political activities and be a member of civic society groups pursuing some of their goals.
d) To be resident in one of the four regions of central Italy constituency will be an asset.
5. Financial conditions
The monthly allowance for the traineeship is 1.200 EURO.
6. Social security
Trainees shall be covered against risks of sickness and accident by the services of the European Parliament.
Trainees shall be entitled to two days’ leave per month worked. The granting of trainees' leave shall be subject to Parliament's timetable of work.
8. Termination of contract
The traineeship may be terminated at any time at the trainee’s request.
In the event of manifestly poor performance by the trainee of his or her duties, or of unjustified a decision to terminate the traineeship may be taken by the MEP
